My piece focuses on me and expresses my relationships, values, my form of self care. With the intent to build a better and stronger relationship with myself as well as to create a connection with indigenous youth that struggle with any sort of identity. My piece represents who I am and how I perceive the world. The piece is interpretive; everyone will get different things from it and some things have double or multiple meanings. The beaded portion is me while the canvas represents the world, specifically how I perceive the world and my emotions towards it. Throughout the time I spent creating I have felt as though I’ve done a lot of healing and learning more about myself. The process was something that I enjoyed and I genuinely believe the piece represents me.
